چکیده
Provenance and peer review Not commissioned; externally peer reviewed. We read with interest the article by Munot et al 1 regarding the possible causative role of anaemia in the pathogenesis of stroke in children. Several studies suggest an increased risk of venous and arterial thromboembolism in adults with infl ammatory bowel disease (IBD) compared with the general population. 2 We recently performed a systematic review of studies on the incidence and characteristics of thromboembolism in children with IBD. 3 From this review, which used a wide search strategy in Matteo Bramuzzo, Marzia Lazzerini Department of Paediatrics, Institute for Child Health IRCCS Burlo Garofolo, Trieste, Italy

Background: Given the important role of amino acids in regulating many metabolic pathways of the body and considering the scarcity of markers for the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and its differentiation, we aimed to investigate the status of serum amino acids chromatography in children with IBD. Materials and Methods This case-control study was conducted among children with pri...

The TE is a common extraintestinal complication of IBD, squarely associated with the IBD activity. The application of anticoagulant and thrombolytic therapy in severe IBD is an unresolved issue. Herein we report...

متن کاملPrevalence and screening for anaemia in mild to moderate Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis in the United States, 2010–2014
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Anaemia affects up to 74% patients with Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) and is correlated with decreased quality of life. The European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) recommends at least annual screening for iron-deficiency anaemia. We aimed to determine the prevalence of anaemia, frequency of anaemia screening and factors associated with anaemia in ...
